Well, I thought I would enter the world of blogs! Nice time to try it of course…just as the holidays are fast approaching and things get crazy busy.
Of course, that is my excuse reason for things possibly being slow at first. But I’m going to do my best to post something each day.
I started this because we are making some exciting changes around here in terms of school, life, etc. And I thought it would be a neat place for those who know us (and those who don’t…welcome!) to catch up on life here at the Amblings. For those of you who don’t know us yet, we are the Amblings family (mom, dad, and 4 children all boys…yes you read that right…all boys!)
I’m totally into lapbooking right now! Very cool way to do a homeschool portfolio. Mr 11 and I just started on his first lapbook. The topic is “The first Thanksgiving”. I will try to post some pictures as I figure out how to do that! The lapbooks are made with a file folder converted as a cover and the mini books, etc put in the insides. We have one extension in ours to make it a fold out. It’s so cool and Mr 11 spent over 4 hours writing and working on it today. For a reluctant writer, that is awesome.
Mr 2 year old and I spent the morning playing trucks and people. Very exciting!
I am thinking of arranging his toy area downstairs into more of a Montessori environment. I have a 6 cubby 2 shelf unit (clear as mud, wasn’t that?!) that I am going to use to store things. Now, I need to find some “works” to put in there. I have a lacing/beading workset, and I was going to do a tranfer workset. Anyone out there an expert? Help appreciated, peeps~
