Harry Potter 7..it is finished.

Well, I can now reveal my fan obsession to the blog world.  Yes, I Amblin, am a mega Harry Potter fan.  On July 21st, my 3 older children and I went to the Harry Potter Midnight Madness Party to purchase Book 7 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.  It was such a blast!

We, of course, dressed up in our best Potter clothes.  I was Hermoine (complete with bushy frizzy hair), Mr 12 was Sirius Black, Mr 9 was a Muggle, and Mr 8 was Ron Weasley.  What a hoot!  We went to the bookstore at 6pm to pick up our Line number bracelet.  We then returned at 9:45pm to the store for the party.  There were games, tons of people, and just such a fun atmosphere.  Lots of Potter fans!  At 11:15, they began to form the line.  We were in group G8.  Each group had approximately 40-50 people in it.  There were…..31 G groups!  Then 2 Blue Groups and then about 100 extra people.  We all counted down the last 10 seconds until 12:01 am 7/21/07.  The first book was sold with a huge cheer and we walked out of the store with our 2 books (one for me, one for the children!) at 12:19am 7/21/07.

I began to read as soon as we got home.  It took a few days thanks to some other commitments I had (like life! LOL) but I finished this morning at…12:01am!  Of course, Mr 9 finished before me ;).  I won’t give away any spoilers for those who haven’t finished yet but let me just say that this was probably the best book I’ve read in the series.  It was an absolute treasure to read.  I had many theories, some of which were born out and some of which were completely wrong! LOL 

There’s almost a little grief though.  I will never again pick up the broom in my mind to ride with Harry, Ron and Hermoine for the first time again.  I am sure I will re-read the books.  But that first time of cracking open a new HP book is over.  And that makes me a little sad.  And if that makes me a geek, well so be it.
